💙⚪FOND FAREWELL FÉILE - YOU WERE FABULOUS 💙⚪
“New friends made and great Hurling played” words spoken by our Underage Boys Chairperson, Ger Webb on Friday evening, which really sums up the whole of what Féile is all about. And here in Kinsale it certainly lived up to that.
Another few photos here to sum up the fantastic weekend of sport and especially our “one club one vision” in top class action, as everyone rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in. Kinsale GAA is a great club, with great people.....
Every project needs a leader though and with Eithne Fitzpatrick at the helm Féile, Kinsale was in the very best of hands.
Well done Eithne and thank you from everyone in the club for working so hard to bring it all together .... a Kinsale Gaa legend.
Very very special thanks to all the host families for welcoming the Dunderry team into your homes and your family for the weekend... probably the most important part of the Féile Experience.
Huge thanks once again to everyone who brought food for the marquee - we were overwhelmed by the generosity of people who went to so much trouble to feed all our visitors.
Thank you to all the volunteers for all the jobs over the weekend - you’ve been thanked a few times already but there can never be enough thanks to people who give up their Time so selflessly to help others / amazing stuff by everyone - our Féile Rep our Pitch Coordinators, looking after the pitches, to working in the marquee, to stewarding/traffic, umpires, to our brilliant photographers, putting up the marquee, taking down the marquee, to mention but a few jobs.
👏🏻🔵⚪We must give special mention though to a few who because of their contribution made our Féile weekend possible.
To Donie O Leary for providing his Marquee once again. It is the heart and soul of all our events at the pitch - just wouldn’t be possible without Donie’s marquee.
To Padraig McGillicuddy and Carol Nyhan O Callaghan for being on duty for all things medical for the whole weekend. Great peace of mind for the club to have two top people in these vital roles.
To the Blue Haven for being super official club sponsors always willing to support us - no problem for them to provide food for the marquee we just had to ask once.
To Finbarr Desmond, Fisherman’s Catch of the day, who sponsored feeding the teams and all their families on Saturday. He came along to the pitch with his ‘to die for’ and absolutely gorgeous fish n chips - if you haven’t tried them your missing out on a wonderful treat. SPECIAL THANKS to Thomas and crew of the ADRIANNE for sponsoring the fish and to MP O SULLIVANS for sponsoring all the minerals.
Thank you Finbarr, Val, Kenzie, Indie, Josh for working so hard to feed us all.
To Pat O Regan of KINSALE COFFEE, who sponsored providing all the yummy coffee from his fab Vintage Van. There’s nothing like a good cuppa coffee to keep you going when your standing by the side of a pitch. Thank you Pat your really spoiling us with the lovely coffee at all our events.
To Clona Dairies for sponsoring little bottles of milk for the teams.
To Kinsale Community School for loaning us their benches and stools for the weekend - just one phone call to Fergal or Brendan and it’s sorted. Great support as always for the club.
Best of luck to Dunderry today in Clonakilty and best of luck to you for the rest of Season 2019 / we wish you all a safe journey home later.
And that’s a wrap on Féile Kinsale 2019...
(Sorry if we forgot anyone - it’s so brilliant to have so much help🙏🏼🙏🏼)
Season 2019 getting into full swing now... watch out for notices on matches coming up as Championship time beckons ......
