Dear Friends and Members,
You may be aware that we are holding our Annual Golf Classic on Friday, May 24th at Kinsale Golf Club. All monies raised will be directed towards the underage section of the club (Girls & Boys) - which is where the majority of our members and volunteers dedicate their time ; to the youth and future of Kinsale GAA.
This is an appeal to everyone to strongly encourage any businesses/companies you are involved with to please sponsor a Tee Box for €50. Or indeed to enter a team on the day. Fundraisers are crucial to the future development and indeed the current maintenance and running of our club – along with Grants that can be applied for, they are one of our biggest opportunities to raise much needed income for the club.
This GAA club cannot fulfill it’s potential without EVERYONE getting behind it. The GAA Club is open to everyone in the community and also to develop and enhance your childrens lives through sport.
Now is the time to show your conviction and commitment by pledging financial support for our Golf Classic Fundraiser please.
Kind regards,
Gerard Webb – 086/2410916
Cathaoirleach – Underage Boys Club.

A Chairde,
The South Union Point-to-Point will take place again this year over the bank holiday weekend.
We have managed to secure a donation of €1,000 for Kinsale GAA if we can ALL help for just a few hours over the Saturday and Sunday. Our purpose will be to steward entry points, collect entry fees and direct traffic. This is a fun and family orientated Event with free pony rides and bouncing castles for kids along with great racing and crack for adults.
Anyone that helps will gain Free entry for their family over the two days.
First Race on Saturday at 5 – Stewards required from 1.30pm – 7.30pm.
First race Sunday at 3pm – Stewards required from 12.30pm – 7.30pm.
Again, if we have enough volunteers each person will only have to give 3 hours.
Please contact me with your available hours – looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Gerard Webb – 086/2410916

Kinsale GAA Clubhouse & Grounds is in need of some TLC!!
Tidy up, Lick of paint, Clean up
We are looking for lots volunteers to come along and help out with some easy jobs at Bandon Road; a general tidy and clean-up of the clubhouse & grounds before the busiest time of the Season kicks off and to have our club looking its best for the visiting Co. Meath Féile Team and their families being hosted by our club in June. (if people could bring their own equipment/gloves etc to do the jobs that would be fantastic!)
The fun begins at 10am on Saturday, 11th May, in Bandon Road (whatever time people can give would be hugely appreciated –thank you).
Make it a family adventure – Parents, Kids, Teenagers, Grannies, Grandads, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Friends - there’s a small job for everyone!!!! (**Note: All children must be supervised by their parents)
Please Please make some time to TLC your club this Saturday!
If you need more information please contact Laurence Murphy on 087-9056737

Féile na nGaol – Being hosted in Cork this year:
Féile is being hosted in Cork this year and so Under 14 Boys Teams from all over the country will descend on the “Real Capital” to take part :-):-)!! Each club in Cork hosts a travelling team and so Dunderry GAA from Co. Meath will be hosted by Kinsale GAA and Club families will welcome the players, coaches and mentors into their homes during the weekend of June 7th to 9th.
The club are hoping to organise some gear for the Kinsale Players and “a welcome to Kinsale reception” and perhaps make a presentation to the Dunderry players as a memento of their trip to Kinsale for Féile.
A fundraising coffee morning will take place in the Temperance Hall on Saturday, May 18th, at 10am to 12.30pm. Your support would be much appreciated! ☕️🍩🍪🧁🍰☕️

Child Safeguarding Course being run by Camogie Association:
Hi to everybody,
The next Child Safeguarding Information Seminar takes place on 18 May 2019 in Croke Park from 10.30 am to 4.30pm and in line with previous seminars we have a varied list of topics that we people have asked us to develop and discuss along with updates on current safeguarding matters.
Amongst some of the topics agreed for discussion at the Seminar are:
• Suicide Awareness- Information on suicide awareness and prevention training, plus local resources and a discussion on introducing a training programme for Gaelic Games personnel will all be covered.
• New Child Safeguarding Statement 2019 - following consultations with the Child Safeguarding Statement Compliance Unit the new updated joint Child Safeguarding Statement 2019-2021 will be launched at our seminar. This new statement, and an accompanying risk assessment document, will be issued in template format which will allow for the individual requirements of each club and county and will act as a guidance for all clubs in agreeing their own final statements
• Restorative Practice - Clubs and County Boards alike have all experienced the frustrations of taking disciplinary actions and the subsequent fall out that may occur at times in the Club/County. Restorative Practice offers an alternative dispute resolution intervention that has proven to be most successful on many occasions and will discuss findings and outcomes in relation to the benefits of using restorative practice when working with children and young people in our Associations
• Social Media Policy and Guidelines -The recently launched GAA Social Media Policy and Guidelines contain updated guidance and vital information on implementing best practice in the use of social media in our Associations.
The seminar will also enable us update you on the progress we have made on our on-line child safeguarding training programme, developments with the Gender Diversity working group, clarification on the future delivery of the Gaelic Games Child Safeguarding Training Workshops by our own Tutors in 2019 and information on a proposed Sport Ireland audit of Clubs in 2019.
As previously advertised we are inviting the County Children's Officers from each of our Gaelic Games Associations and our Safeguarding Tutors to this seminar. Please make every effort to attend . Next week we will issue you with an email in order to reserve your booking for the seminar.
Many thanks
