mentioned in our previous post Kinsale GAA Club, like many GAA Clubs in Ireland are asking its members and greater community to help raise vital funds for Pieta House.
As many of you know at this stage the annual Pieta House ‘Darkness into Light 💡 Walk’ should be taking place this Saturday! Obviously COVID-19 has had an impact on this event and it won't be able to go ahead.
Pieta House has said that due to the impact of the global Covid-19 pandemic, it has a budget shortfall of around €6.5 million this year.
As a result of this cancellation we have decided to put our own twist on it to ensure some funds are still raised for Pieta House.
We are asking you to pledge to walk/run at least 5km between 7.30pm on Friday May 22nd and 7.30pm on Saturday May 23rd.
We want to clock up as many kilometres as possible and raise lots of money for this great charity.
There will be a set route around Kinsale for those who can do it ensuring that we are adhering to strict Covid19 guidelines. Details of the route will be posted next week.
There will be 15 minute intervals between each start at 7.30pm on Friday 22nd May right through to 7.30pm on Saturday evening.
For supporters outside Kinsale and scattered around Ireland or further afield we would love you to take part and map your own route!!
We hope that on the day/night people can upload photos of themselves taking part and their times if they so wish!
Let’s clock up as many kilometres as possible! We can do it!
Please text your interest and desired slot to Pat O Regan (086) 825 0406, and if you can help in any way can you text Catherine Murphy 0872168734.
It would be great to see every slot taken in the 24 hours!
Let’s do our bit for Pieta House in these turbulent times! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
A fundraising link will be shared in the next few days 😊
