A massive “Thank You” from Kinsale GAA!

Kinsale Junior Ladies have reached the All Ireland Semi-Final after beating Drom-Broadford of Limerick and are now Munster Champions – the club is extremely proud of this incredible team’s achievements to date…….but the ladies are not finished yet……..

Taking the club, for the first time ever, into unchartered All Ireland territory, they will now face Kilmoremoy of Mayo, in Ballina, on November 20th at 1pm in the All Ireland Semi-Final, a tremendous sporting occasion that we are all really looking forward to.

The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank you all so much for supporting our Junior Ladies Football Team so far. The buzz generated around the town in the lead up to the Munster Final was absolutely amazing and was entirely as a result of all the flags, bunting and blue and white windows, walls, railings, doors etc that you all decorated and displayed. The Team was completely overwhelmed and very humbled by the support that was shown to them in the weeks before the Munster Final and by the unbelievable crowd that descended on Mallow for Munster Final. During her brilliant speech Captain Aisling Judge sincerely thanked the town and all the supporters for getting behind them in her victory speech. The victory parade around town with the Munster Cup will live long in our memories!

It was very difficult to choose the best dressed window as every single one was just outstanding, but after a lot of debating we would like to congratulate Daisy Chain on a superb window – those mini players all decked out in the blue and white are just brilliant!

Kilmoremoy is the next club to face our amazing team but Kinsale must travel to their home turf to play this massive match. It is a five hour journey to Ballina so naturally the entire Junior Panel will travel up the evening before so they can prepare properly and be fully ready and fresh to contest this hugely important match.

To help with funding for this trip we are holding a Coffee Morning/Cake Sale/Bag Sale in the Temperance Hall, this Saturday, November 12th from 9.30am-1pm.

We would really appreciate it if you could support this fundraiser by coming along and having a cuppa or by donating any prizes, bags or cakes. If you need any more information on this you can contact Catherine on 0872168734. (bags/spot prizes can be handed into Laurence at Maurice Murphys Shop this week or on Saturday morning from 9.10am.  Cakes can be handed in on the morning from 9.10am).

Kinsale GAA would also love if everyone in the town; businesses, homes, schools could all please continue to show their support for our incredible Junior Ladies Team by keeping all their flags, bunting, window displays on show for the next few weeks and inspire the girls to go the whole way to the All Ireland Final which will take place on December 3rd.

Thank you all once again for your immense support for our Munster Champions. Chionn tSáile Abú!
