Hi all,

It is with a heavy heart and great regret that the club has had to take the decision to CANCEL our 2020 Kelloggs Cul Camp due to run from 10th to 14thAugust as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the on-going social distancing criteria and health & safety implications.  Like so many other local and national events that have had to be cancelled, our decision TO CANEL was made after much discussion and examination of all the scenarios.

The health & safety of all the children who would take part in our Camps, is and always will be, our number one priority and so in the current uncertain climate we feel this is the correct decision. We are of course also very mindful of our many volunteers and coaches who would be taking part for these same reasons.

Another important factor was – the enjoyment of Cul Camp.  With coaches and children both having to social distance from each other and with one another in their respective groups (even during break time no sitting with Friends etc); implementing the HSE Safety procedures and the wearing of PPE equipment (details below) does not, in our opinion, make for a very enjoyable atmosphere and could perhaps frighten the children taking part, particularly the younger age groups, which is the absolute opposite of everything that our Cul Camp is all about. Another concern for us would be the issue of providing first aid during Camp for an injury or a cut…….

It’s been a very difficult decision for us to come to and we sincerely thank you for your understanding - we all look forward to our week of fun and games every August  - the last hoorah usually before the return to School!!!! So many “ lovely traditions” have had to be put on hold this year – but we look forward to brighter days ahead in 2021 – together we can all get through this. We will keep smiling and enjoy the beautiful sunshine at the moment.

We offer our apologies for any inconvenience caused due to the cancellation of the camp.

If you have already registered your child/children you can initiate a FULL REFUND by going to the Kelloggs Cul Camp Website, Scroll down to the end of the page and in the bottom right hand side of the page (opposite the pictures of the Cereal Boxes) you will see the REFUND button which you can click to start the process.  Refunds will be made directly back into your account  - please note the refund may take 7/10 working days to process due to the unusually high volume being processed at the moment.

For Information - Details of some of the procedures that would have to implemented to proceed with a Cul Camp:

· Clubs would need to put in a Disinfectant Station: Hurley’s/Footballs/All Gear sprayed with disinfectant before taken into pitch. Disinfect all gear every time a group changes.

· Childrens/Volunteers/Coaches to wash hands with hot water every 2 hours under supervision.

· Supervisors/Coaches required to wear PPE gear – If a coach is  changing groups -  New PPE equipment would be required for the new group.

· Availability of PPE gear questionable – Croke Park can’t guarantee delivery of PPE at the moment anyway.

· Children/Coaches would have to social distance.

· Use of indoor places (i.e. halls, dressing rooms) for changing or eating is not allowed.

· Regular cleaning of Toilet facilities.

· No visit from  inter county players.

· Staggered drop off and collection for parents/guardians.

Please Note: Cul Camp Gear is not available to buy (if that should change we will let everyone know).

Thank you as always for your continued fantastic support for Kinsale GAA club and for your understanding – if you would like to chat or discuss the above, please do not hesitate to contact any of the following people.

Kind regards – stay safe and well everyone.
